PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

If there is a great Canadian anything, it is the prototypical Canadian Infrastructure. - AA Bronson

Built infrastructure is the base level support for our economy and society. This project, a survey of Canadian Infrastructure (road and rail bridges, pipelines, hydro lines, public transit, dams, ports, navigational aids, etc.) photographed via motion picture film, is cross section of these interventions in our national landscape. As a three channel digital video projection, Infrastructure Canada, presents 100 physical objects of study as series of portraits in time - editing together the many different nodes of the same network. This project is an addition to the conversation on the continuing modernization of Canada's inheritance of British colonial space.
